The Neurotechnologist (NT) serves as a critical bridge between surgical teams and neurologists, ensuring patient safety during high-risk procedures. In this role, you will provide real-time neurophysiological monitoring of the nervous system, setting up patients for intraoperative testing and communicating vital data directly to the interpreting neurologist and surgical team as events unfold.
This position is essential for mitigating risks to neural structures and function. You will manage the full lifecycle of surgical cases, from setup to documentation, while maintaining strict adherence to clinical and operational protocols. The role demands a high degree of autonomy, requiring you to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating closely with remote neurologists and on-site surgical staff.
The Neurotechnologist operates within the Clinical Operations department, often in dynamic operating room suites. The environment may involve exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials, necessitating the consistent use of protective clothing. The role requires significant physical stamina, including the ability to stand, turn, and stoop for up to twelve hours, as well as the precision to apply electrodes for surgical procedures.
Travel is a key component of this position. You will be expected to cover cases in other regions as needed, requiring a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to reach healthcare facilities in both urban and rural areas. The schedule is variable, including weekends and participation in a PM call rotation to ensure continuous coverage.
