The University of Pittsburgh, in partnership with the Pittsburgh Institute for Multiple Sclerosis Care and Research and UPMC Medical Education, is pleased to offer fellowships for the 2026-2027 academic year. Applications are accepted through January 31, 2026.
We offer a clinical neuroimmunology and multiple sclerosis fellowship, as well as an ACGME-accredited neuromuscular fellowship. Additionally, a NeuroOncology fellowship is available for 2026-2027, featuring an optional second research year for interested candidates. This program provides a unique balance of structured didactics, scholarly activities, and clinical experience, with a special focus on career development and subspecialty board preparation while supporting a healthy work-life balance.
The Women's Neurology fellowship begins in July 2026. This program offers specialized training at the intersection of neurological disorders and women's health across the lifespan. It is designed to follow directly after neurology residency or to be undertaken before or after other neurological subspecialty fellowships. Fellows train alongside top experts, including Division Chief Dr. Eliza Miller, Chair of Neurology Dr. Page Pennell, and Fellowship Director Dr. Angela O'Neal. The training takes place within an integrated multidisciplinary setting at Magee-Womens Hospital, where over 10,000 deliveries occur annually. Qualified candidates pursuing a clinical research track may receive up to 50% protected time for research, with elective time tailored to individual clinical and research interests.
