As a Network Technician based in Anchorage, AK, you will serve as a critical link in deploying and maintaining the physical and logical infrastructure that powers our security and communication systems. This role is designed for a hands-on professional who thrives in hybrid IT and RF environments, bridging the gap between traditional networking and specialized security technologies.
Your day-to-day work involves installing and terminating complex cabling infrastructures, including Cat5e/6/6a and fiber, to support cameras, access control systems, and video teleconferencing endpoints. You will mount and configure a variety of IP security cameras—ranging from fixed and PTZ to thermal models—and integrate them with Video Management Systems (VMS). Additionally, you will deploy access control hardware, calibrate video conferencing equipment for platforms like Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams, and ensure all devices are properly integrated onto the network with correct IP addressing, VLANs, and QoS configurations.
Beyond installation, you will act as a troubleshooter for connectivity and performance issues, support IT and RF projects including wireless LAN deployments and microwave links, and perform site surveys and preventive maintenance. This position requires a commitment to safety and quality, often involving work in active construction environments, both indoors and outdoors, and occasionally at heights or in confined spaces.
Applicants will be notified via phone or email within ten (10) business days of submission. As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check. Depending on the specific contract requirements, you may also need to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance levels to access military installations.
