AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are the team that keeps the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We tackle the most challenging problems, managing thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we are looking for talented people to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.
As a Network Deployment Technician, you will help build and maintain Cloud Computing Infrastructure across a number of data center and colocation sites in the Americas. You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Your work will involve collaborating with people across AWS to drive change while maintaining excellent communication.
The role requires periods of working independently and includes leading small to mid-size network deployment projects. You will coordinate remote hands for new capacity installations, resolve data center and facility issues, and identify connectivity issues in outside plant (OSP) environments. Additionally, you will perform site audits to ensure safety and quality meet AWS standards, improve operational processes, and provide status updates to stakeholders. This position has a physical component, requiring the ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 lbs, and may involve working in cramped spaces or elevated locations. The role may involve up to 50% travel, which is primarily local but can include domestic and international travel.
