About the Mission

The Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) is a state-of-the-art, DoD healthcare education campus serving as the premier enlisted medical training center for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. With over 48 medical programs and an annual throughput of 24,000 graduates, the campus supports a diverse community of medics, corpsmen, and technicians.

The Information Technology Multimedia Division (ITMD) and Campus Support Branch (CSB) are critical to this mission, providing Command, Control, Communications, and Computer/Information Technology (C4/IT) services, Information Assurance, and Computer Network Defense. Supporting a daily user base of approximately 8,500 and managing roughly 20,000 incidents annually, the ITMD ensures the readiness and sustainability of critical operations across 13 administrative and classroom buildings, as well as Camp Bullis.

About the Role

This position serves as a vital component of the ITMD workforce, augmenting existing Navy staff to deliver robust C4/IT services. You will be responsible for maintaining the high availability and security of the campus network, which includes LAN, Campus Area Network (CAN), and Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in enterprise network management and the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

In this capacity, you will apply established security policies, troubleshoot network vulnerabilities, and manage hardware ranging from Cisco security appliances to multilayer switches and routers. Your work directly impacts the operational continuity of a massive training environment, ensuring that students and faculty have reliable access to the technology they need for their education and daily tasks.

Hiring Process

Candidates selected for this role will undergo a standard federal hiring process, which includes a review of qualifications against DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification requirements (IAT Level II) or equivalent Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP). Successful applicants must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearances and Continuing Education (CE) certifications.
