Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is expanding its operations in West Lafayette, Indiana, to manufacture the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk military trainer aircraft for the United States Air Force. As the facility scales toward full capacity by 2027, it will employ over 250 individuals across management, administration, and manufacturing roles. The Quality department within this growing team is dedicated to upholding rigorous standards for product non-conformance identification, investigation, and disposition.
As a Contract Technical Writer in the Quality department, you will serve as a vital support resource for internal customers. Your primary focus will be bridging the gap between engineering requirements and quality documentation. You will generate critical documents such as Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), Inspection Plans, Control Plans, First Article Inspections (FAIs), and Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions.
This role offers a dynamic day-to-day environment where you will contribute to hands-on, cross-functional problem-solving. You will assist in non-conformance investigations and material assessments, requiring you to interpret engineering drawings and technical product/process requirements associated with electro-mechanical assembly. Beyond documentation, you will maintain tool registers and manage calibrations, ensuring the team operates with precision and efficiency.
We are committed to a people-first culture that aligns with our core values: Trust, Drive, Expertise, and Support. In this role, you will demonstrate these values by fostering strong communication and organizational skills while working collaboratively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This is a 3-month contract position with the possibility of extension. Candidates must have experience in engineering or manufacturing within the aerospace industry. The role requires physical mobility, including the ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or other legally protected characteristics. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities throughout the employment process.
