This role supports the USN/USMC Air Traffic Control Systems, a critical component of national security. You will join a dynamic team dedicated to designing, building, and maintaining the electrical components and machinery that keep these systems operational. Your work directly impacts the ability of engineering staff to make informed design decisions and ensures the reliability of military radar and navigational aids.
About the Role
You will apply electrical and electronic theory under the direction of engineering staff to design, build, repair, calibrate, and modify electrical components, circuitry, controls, and machinery. This position is essential for the evaluation and use of these systems in engineering design decisions.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include providing electronic, telephonic, and on-site fleet support for the operation and maintenance of military radar and navigational aids. You will conduct Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) level repairs, review and update technical documentation, and develop training curriculum for fleet training evolutions. Additionally, you will train others on the use and maintenance of electronic systems and utilize common and specialty hand tools alongside general and special purpose electronic test equipment.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in St. Mary's County, near the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Candidates must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to St. Mary's County or surrounding areas. The role may require travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations up to 25% of the time.
