About the Role
Amentum is seeking dynamic leaders for the Field Support Team (FST) Network Lead position, home-based in Virginia Beach, VA. This role is critical to the SURTASS program, where you will define, design, and implement network communications and solution improvements. You will serve as the primary point of contact for planning, executing, and reporting on new and existing SURTASS operations, ensuring the reliability and performance of mission-critical systems.
In this position, you will lead FST teams in providing operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair support for all C4I systems and networks onboard SURTASS vessels. Your day-to-day involves managing load configurations for central data communication processors, coordinating terminal orders and cable installations, and negotiating with common carriers. You will also be responsible for generating mission system status reports for the Government, utilizing the WILD trouble ticket application to log and track maintenance actions, and ensuring all open tickets are actively resolved.
Beyond daily operations, you will drive project implementation by conducting cost analysis, vendor comparisons, and proposal writing. You will support the deployment of laptop and desktop machines, migrate data, and develop network automation solutions. As a key leader, you will provide training to team members and assist in the continuous improvement of network infrastructure across multiple platforms and protocols, including IP and VOIP.

Amentum is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements: Active Secret or higher US government security clearance; US citizenship required; Bachelor's degree in CS, IS Management, or equivalent; Graduate of US Navy Electronics or IS 'C' School or equivalent; 10 years hands-on experience in data network maintenance and repair; and 10 years combined experience managing UNIX/LINUX and Windows networks.
