SSI is seeking a Junior Naval Architect to work onsite at a Navy program in Norfolk, VA. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between engineering analysis and data management, supporting critical naval operations. You will perform engineering, mathematical, and statistical analyses, utilizing specialized software to develop tools and techniques for managing and displaying data. Your work will involve conducting engineering studies, performing field work, and ensuring the quality and integrity of databases such as eCCIMS, eBCMP, and M&SWP.
As a key contributor, you will be responsible for documenting process changes, responding to data queries from internal and external stakeholders, and presenting findings at meetings. This position offers the opportunity to engage directly with complex naval systems, including aircraft carriers and large ship design, construction, or maintenance contexts.
Candidates must possess a valid Secret clearance. The application process requires a Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering, Corrosion Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or Industrial Engineering. While a degree in Naval Architecture or Civil Engineering is preferred, candidates with an Engineer In Training (EIT) designation and 3+ years of professional engineering experience will be highly considered.
