Multi-Media Journalist

About the Role

NBC Connecticut is seeking a creative and driven journalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will understand how to tell powerful stories across all platforms, adapting techniques to meet audiences where they are. This role is designed for a versatile storyteller who reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits, and distributes content for all relevant platforms as assigned by leadership.

You will partner with news producers, managers, and photographers to conceptualize, write, edit, and produce station news packages. The position requires collaborating with multiplatform leadership to create specialized daily content for our website and app, while also researching and analyzing background information to verify facts. You will be responsible for selecting video, coordinating editing and graphic design production, and maintaining high editorial standards in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

A key part of this role involves building relationships with the community and community leaders to develop story leads, as well as establishing a network of contacts and sources across Connecticut. You will also cooperate with and support NBC News, the Newschannel, and other owned television stations, while participating in station-sponsored events and special promotion projects.
