Advocate Health is the third-largest nonprofit, integrated health system in the United States, formed from the combination of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, the system serves nearly 6 million patients across 69 hospitals and over 1,000 care locations. It is nationally recognized for expertise in cardiology, neurosciences, oncology, pediatrics, and rehabilitation, as well as organ transplants and burn treatments. The organization is committed to providing equitable care for all, delivering more than $6 billion in annual community benefits.
Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) serves as the flagship hospital of Atrium Health and the region's only Level 1 trauma center. Distinguished for excellent patient care and medical expertise, CMC is a world-class facility offering a full range of services to the Charlotte community and beyond. It houses more than 1,100 physicians and providers and functions as one of North Carolina's five Academic Medical Center Teaching Hospitals, providing residency training for over 200 physicians and serving as a regional campus for the Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
This position supports the Radiology Services team at CMC, a critical hub for diagnostic imaging and patient care. As a part-time, variable-schedule MRI Technologist, you will operate MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency to deliver accurate diagnostic results. The role involves a dynamic day-to-day workflow where you will examine patient requests, verify orders with radiologists, and prepare patients for procedures by reviewing their medical history and explaining the process. You will be responsible for the entire exam lifecycle, from patient intake to the completion of dictated results, ensuring technical quality and safety at every step.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with physicians, PAs, and nursing staff during invasive procedures and medical emergencies. You will maintain a sterile environment, adhere to strict radiation safety guidelines, and manage patient monitoring equipment. The position requires adaptability to a variable schedule, allowing you to contribute to the hospital's mission of providing top-tier care while balancing your own availability.
