The Imaging Modality Manager serves as the enterprise-wide leader for assigned radiology modalities across all health system locations. This role is critical for ensuring consistency and standardization in imaging protocols, staff competencies, and equipment selection. You will provide day-to-day management and supervision for specific areas such as Diagnostic, Fluoro, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine/PET, Interventional Radiology, and Breast Imaging.
Your mission is to oversee the clinical functions and processes of your assigned area, ensuring the highest level of operational excellence. Through supervisors, lead technologists, and staff, you will be accountable for daily clinical operations that prioritize safety, efficiency, and high-quality, cost-effective care. You will work collaboratively with location managers, other Imaging Managers, faculty, and staff to foster a culture of departmental safety, quality, and teamwork.
In this position, you will navigate a fast-paced environment where you manage human resources, operations, relationship development, financial budgets, and capital equipment planning. You will ensure that all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures adhere to radiation safety principles (ALARA), ACR Guidelines for MRI Safety, and other professional organization standards.
Your day involves resolving workflow, customer service, and human resource issues directly with supervisors. You will implement new initiatives, programs, and policies while maintaining compliance with VCU and VCUHS policies. You will also engage in strategic planning and legal and regulatory compliance, seeking advice from the Associate Director or Director when major impacts on section activity occur or when handling complex employee matters like terminations and grievances.

Seven (7) years of progressively more responsible supervisory/management experience in the area(s) to be managed. Previous work experience in an academic medical center environment. Master's Degree in Health Administration or closely related field from an accredited program.
