Assist teachers with a variety of instructional, clerical, student management, and daily life activities for special education students in special education or general classrooms.
This position is designed for individuals with a strong desire to see young people succeed. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and the ability to complete tasks independently while maintaining flexibility to meet the changing needs of students. Success in this role requires strong tutorial skills, knowledge of child guidance principles, and the ability to relate well with students, staff, and parents.
Incumbents must be willing to supervise students in community settings and participate in training provided by the Special Education Department. While a high school diploma or GED is required, previous experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
Positions typically occur within the hours of 7:15 am and 3:30 pm. Exact start and end times may vary based on the needs of the school and the number of hours allocated for the position. These are school year positions.
