The Division of Microbiology and Immunology (M&I) in the University of Utah's Department of Pathology invites applications for a new tenure-track faculty position. This open rank (Assistant, Associate, and Full) position is designed for a candidate expected to run a cutting-edge basic or translational research program relevant to Microbiology and Immunology. The primary criteria for selection are excellence and creativity in research and scholarship, including a successful track record of publications and funding consistent with rank. Successful candidates will establish a rigorous, externally-funded, independent, and collaborative research program that complements the division's goals.
Particular areas of interest include host-commensal and host-pathogen interactions (bacterial, viral, and fungal) and immune responses or immunotherapies pertaining to cancer, autoimmunity, infectious disease, metabolic disease, and other human disorders. Expertise in human immunology, machine learning/AI approaches, and novel functional genomics technologies are highly valued.
