As a top builder, developer, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) firm, Mortenson spans diverse markets including sports, renewable energy, data centers, and healthcare. We are builders at heart, dedicated to ensuring the built environment has a lasting positive impact. Our mission is to "Redefine Possible®" by delivering projects that transform communities and industries.
The MEP Design Phase Manager serves as a strategic leader responsible for providing overall management direction and expertise for design phase activities across one or more concurrent projects. This role bridges the gap between project acquisition, design development, and construction execution.
You will drive the identification and development of new projects while guiding the technical direction of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) scopes. Your day-to-day involves reviewing MEP options, generating system analyses, and coordinating life cycle cost analyses to inform system selection. You will act as a key liaison between the project team, clients, and engineering disciplines, ensuring that design documents meet constructability standards and logistical requirements from project award through buyout.
A critical part of this position is managing business partner selection and relationships. You will lead the solicitation and evaluation of MEP partners, ensuring their scope, quality, and schedule performance align with the goals established during the design phase. Additionally, you will integrate 3D/4D modeling technologies into the preconstruction phase to enhance project visualization and coordination.
Mortenson postings are typically open for a minimum of 5 days, with an average duration of 44 days. We encourage qualified candidates to apply early.
