As a Mental Health/Disability Specialist, you will serve as a vital bridge between classroom staff, families, and partner agencies. Your primary focus is to identify children needing individualized developmental and behavioral support, then recommend and demonstrate strategies that help them adapt and succeed. This role is collaborative by nature, requiring you to work closely with teachers, site supervisors, and mental health consultants to develop Program Intervention Plans (PIP) and Behavior Safety Plans (BSP).
In this position, you will provide direct support through observation in classrooms and home settings, attend Multidisciplinary Case Reviews, and assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP). You will also play a key role in guiding families through the referral process for Part B and Part C services, ensuring they are linked to necessary community support and evaluations.
Candidates must be able to commute daily to our Haysville, KS location. Please note that in compliance with KDHE requirements, proof of measles (MMR) vaccination or documented immunity will be requested during the employment process. Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship is required.
