Are you passionate about helping others and have personal or family experience with mental health? We are looking for remarkable people who want to connect with others and make a difference in the work they do every day. We provide the training; you provide the passion.
As a Mental Health Technician, you will be a vital member of the team, working side-by-side with professional staff to support consumers. Your day will involve welcoming and admitting patients, participating in the delivery of both physical and therapeutic care, and ensuring a safe, recovery-oriented environment. You will observe and monitor consumers to detect behavior patterns and physical or emotional wellbeing, intervening when necessary to ensure safety. From assisting with daily activities like hygiene and meals to facilitating educational groups and discharge planning, your role is central to the patient's journey.
This is a safety-sensitive position where patients require care 24 hours a day. You will spend most of your time on your feet, engaging constantly with patients, and may occasionally need to intervene in situations involving violent or potentially violent individuals. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift or maneuver a minimum of 50 pounds and stand or walk for at least 8 hours at a time.
To apply, please submit your resume. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, as the role may require travel to locations other than the primary office. Successful candidates must be able to pass Therapeutic Options training and CPR certification.
We are committed to a Drug-Free Workplace Policy. This position is classified as "safety-sensitive" under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act. All employees in this role are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is included in the drug panel screening. Please note that possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse an applicant from the testing process or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana, which may include revocation of a job offer or dismissal from employment.
