Founded in 1889, Educational Alliance is one of New York City's original settlement houses. Originally established to offer educational, social, and cultural services to Jewish immigrants on the Lower East Side, we have evolved into a proudly Jewish institution that partners with diverse communities throughout Lower Manhattan. Our mission is to provide New Yorkers with high-quality, transformational programs that enhance well-being and socio-economic opportunities, reflecting our core belief that everyone in our city deserves the tools to thrive.
The Membership and Office Coordinator serves as a vital link within the Sirovich Center for Balanced Living / Project Ore, a diverse and warm community center dedicated to serving active and engaged older adults. This part-time role is designed to ensure a consistent, welcoming client experience while managing the operational backbone of our center. You will work directly under the Assistant Director to execute membership goals, manage all data and processes related to program activities, and ensure compliance requirements are met.
In this position, you will be the face of the center for many members, responding to inquiries, distributing materials, and listening to concerns with compassion. Your day will involve overseeing the logistics of member engagement operations, including classes, field trips, and meetings, while adapting quickly to unexpected changes such as last-minute events or instructor absences. Beyond member interaction, you will provide essential administrative support to daily operations, including performing health screenings for in-person events, managing attendance, and maintaining our newly renovated office spaces.
