About Harris-Stowe State University

Harris-Stowe State University is a historically Black institution (HBCU) located in the heart of vibrant mid-town St. Louis, Missouri. Our beautiful campus is minutes from the renowned Gateway Arch, St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis Art and History Museums, Forest Park, and other cultural and educational institutions. Harris-Stowe's diverse faculty and staff provide a wide range of academic programs to one of the most culturally diverse student bodies in the St. Louis region.

About the Role

The Director of Admissions serves as a strategic leader supporting the vision and management oversight for the University's recruitment and enrollment of new undergraduate students, including freshmen, transfers, and non-traditional audiences. Reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment Management, you will guide market research, enrollment planning, and the development of comprehensive recruitment, marketing, and outreach strategies.

In this role, you will be accountable for achieving annual undergraduate enrollment goals through the oversight of recruitment and yield initiatives. You will represent the University to prospective students and families while leading the undergraduate admissions team. Your day-to-day involves managing daily operations, supervising staff and student interns, evaluating enrollment outcomes, and ensuring alignment of enrollment strategies with the University's institutional priorities and long-term growth objectives. You will also serve as the Designated School Official (PDSO) for the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), managing compliance for international student admission.

Hiring Process

Due to the large number of applications submitted and the high volume of applicant inquiries we receive regarding the status of applications, we are unable to accept phone calls or walk-in inquiries regarding applicant status. Only those candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.

Equal Opportunity Employer

Harris-Stowe State University is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, genetic information, disability, or protected veteran status.
