The UHealth Laboratories Department is seeking a Medical Technologist - Lead to join our team. This role is designed for those looking for a challenge where they can contribute to a culture of excellence in a dynamic, high-volume environment.

About the Role

The Medical Technologist - Lead performs a variety of complex and special microbiological, molecular biological, and immunological tests on body specimens to provide critical data for the treatment and diagnosis of disease. Beyond technical execution, this position serves as a vital resource for the team, facilitating quality assurance, instrument maintenance, and the training and mentorship of fellow Medical Technologists.

In this role, you will verify specimen identification, analyze and interpret abnormal results, and collaborate with pathologists for evaluation. You will act as a lead resource for staff, orienting new employees on laboratory techniques and operations while ensuring all testing adheres to strict University and unit-level policies. This position requires a blend of technical precision and leadership to support the resolution of complex laboratory problems.
