The UHealth Laboratories Department is seeking a Medical Technologist - Lead to join our team. This role is designed for those ready to take on the challenge of advancing diagnostic excellence within a dynamic, high-volume environment.
The Medical Technologist - Lead serves as a vital resource within the laboratory, performing complex microbiological, molecular biological, and immunological tests on body specimens to support disease treatment and diagnosis. Beyond technical execution, this position acts as a mentor and leader, facilitating quality assurance, managing instrument maintenance, and guiding the professional development of fellow Medical Technologists.
In this role, you will verify specimen identification, analyze and interpret abnormal results, and collaborate closely with pathologists to ensure accurate sign-outs. You will also manage equipment calibration, inventory, and quality-control procedures while supporting your colleagues in resolving technical inconsistencies. As a lead, you will orient new employees and train staff on laboratory techniques and operations, ensuring the department maintains the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
