Pediatric Associates of Alexandria is dedicated to providing exceptional outpatient pediatric care across three locations: the Alexandria section of Fairfax County and Potomac Yard in Arlington. We are a busy, fast-paced practice committed to creating a welcoming environment for children and their families.
About the Role
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors. Your primary mission is to ensure the practice waiting area is clean, organized, and inviting, setting a positive tone for every visit. You will manage the flow of the office by greeting patients, handling check-ins and check-outs, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires a friendly, easy-going personality and a customer-oriented approach to thrive in our dynamic environment.
Hiring Process
We are seeking candidates who can adapt quickly to a fast-paced setting. Successful applicants will complete an orientation process before joining the weekend rotation schedule.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleGreet patients and manage check-in and check-out procedures
- check_circleCollect accurate demographic and insurance information from patients
- check_circleMaintain a clean and organized waiting area throughout shifts
- check_circleSchedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments in the computer system
- check_circlePull patient charts and create new patient records as needed
- check_circleCollect co-payments and explain patient balances
- check_circleAnswer phone calls, take detailed messages, and distribute them appropriately
- check_circleOpen and close office by operating equipment and securing doors
- check_circleVerify insurance coverage via internet or telephone prior to visits
- check_circleComplete morning and evening financial tallies accurately
- check_circleDocument all activities with dates and initials as required
Requirements
- verifiedHigh school diploma/GED required

- verified1+ years experience in medical field or administration

- verifiedFamiliarity with Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software
