About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist 2 to join our team at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital. In this full-time role, you will serve as a key resource for technical operations, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and quality in our laboratory services. You will act as a mentor and operator for your colleagues, customers, and patients, demonstrating an expanded knowledge of both technical and administrative tasks beyond standard operations.
Your day-to-day involves reviewing technical activities for quality assurance, preparing the laboratory for self and onsite inspections, and rigorously following site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will be responsible for performing required Quality Control (QC) measures, identifying discrepancies, and determining causes prior to notification. By reporting accurate results and minimizing corrected reports, you will directly contribute to the reliability of our diagnostic services.
Work Environment
This position operates on a schedule that varies, typically Monday through Friday with every other weekend coverage. We offer flexible work schedules and hybrid career opportunities to support a healthy work-life balance.
