Based at the Ascension Medical Group in Newburgh, Indiana, within the OHA Cancer Center, this full-time position is vital to our diagnostic capabilities. You will serve as a key link in the patient care journey by collecting and processing blood specimens for testing. Your day will involve a blend of clinical precision and administrative support, ensuring that every sample is handled with the highest standards of safety and accuracy.
In this role, you will set up instruments, maintain and sterilize equipment, and manage the workflow of receiving, centrifuging, accessioning, and transporting specimens. You will also verify records, order add-on tests, and resolve duplicate orders. Beyond the lab bench, you will perform essential clerical duties such as answering phones, reviewing EKGs, collecting patient demographic data, and managing data entry and filing. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your attention to detail directly impacts patient outcomes.
