About the Opportunity

AMN Healthcare is partnering with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) to recruit a Medical Director of Transplant Hepatology to lead a collaborative, rapidly growing program in Milwaukee, WI. In this role, you will shape quality initiatives, mentor faculty, and drive programmatic growth alongside accomplished transplant surgeons and a seasoned Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team.

This position offers 40% protected time and strong institutional support within a new Digestive Disease Center (opened in 2024). With increasing annual liver transplant volumes and a culture that values teamwork and continuous improvement, this is a platform to elevate outcomes, advance education, and build a best-in-class service for patients across Wisconsin and beyond.

About the Team & Culture

You will guide quality, safety, and growth initiatives in partnership with Transplant Surgery and GI & Hepatology. The role involves mentoring a collegial group of senior and junior hepatology faculty, supported by a robust team of outpatient and inpatient APPs. The environment fosters daily engagement with GI & Hepatology fellows, including weekends, and provides a pathway to reduce call frequency as the team expands.

MCW is committed to innovation and patient-centered care, offering a setting where you can teach fellows, residents, and students within a high-volume academic network. The position does not require endoscopy call, which is covered by the GI team, allowing you to focus on leadership and programmatic development.
