Caduceus is supporting the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) to deliver comprehensive Occupational Health services at the Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas. This role is designed to serve as the senior clinical authority within a unique workplace health environment, bridging the gap between clinical medicine and industrial safety.
The Occupational Medical Director is essential to maintaining the health and safety of the workforce, acting as a trusted consultant to BEP management on all occupational medicine matters. The position supports a 24/5 operational health unit, requiring a physician who can provide both direct patient care and strategic oversight. From emergency response to preventive wellness initiatives, the Medical Director ensures the facility meets rigorous health standards while managing complex workers' compensation cases and fitness-for-duty evaluations.
As the Medical Director, you will balance clinical duties with administrative leadership. Your day may involve conducting pre-employment and fitness-for-duty examinations, performing diagnostic procedures such as EKGs and suturing, and interpreting specialized tests like audiograms and spirometry. You will collaborate closely with nurses and management to assess medical aspects of worker injuries, determine light-duty eligibility, and support the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Beyond the clinic, you will serve as a key member of BEP committees, drafting policies and guidelines for occupational health, and contributing to the EHS Newsletter. The role requires periodic availability across shifts to handle emergent situations, accompany nurses on emergency calls, and monitor health-related communications for federal facilities in Washington, DC, and Fort Worth, TX.
Candidates must possess a Doctorate degree in medicine (MD), a valid license to practice in the Fort Worth Metropolitan Area, and specific certification or experience in occupational health. The selection process will verify proficiency in clinical skills (including EKG and suturing) and familiarity with web-based medical software and Occupational Health and Safety systems.
Caduceus and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetic information.
