About the Role
This position serves as a critical bridge between clinical documentation and financial operations. The primary mission is to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures for patient records, supporting reimbursement processes, research initiatives, and the generation of vital statistical data. Beyond individual coding tasks, the role functions as an educational resource, providing daily feedback and training to providers, staff, and patients within the BMG organization.
As a team lead, you will guide the onboarding of new staff and drive the education of specialized workflows. The role also involves active collaboration with clinical documentation specialists, case managers, and physician office staff to resolve complex coding issues. Additionally, you will play a key part in integrating new acquisitions by leading documentation improvement efforts and educating teams on medical necessity requirements.
