Nemours Children's Health is an internationally recognized pediatric health system serving more than 1.7 million patient encounters annually. Backed by the Nemours Foundation and Alfred I. duPont Trust, our $1.7B nonprofit system operates across six states, including two freestanding children's hospitals and a network of over 80 primary, urgent, and specialty care practices. We are dedicated to improving children's health through clinical care, research, education, advocacy, and prevention.
Our "Whole Child Health" approach focuses equally on prevention and treatment, partnering with communities to help every child thrive. Inclusion and belonging guide our strategy and growth; we are committed to culturally relevant care, reducing health disparities, and fostering an environment where every associate, patient, and family feels supported and valued.
The Medical Assistant (MA) – Outpatient Float serves as a vital liaison between patients and families, providers, and the broader care team. In this dynamic role, you will coordinate patient flow by assisting in clinical data collection and review for patient intake, ensuring providers have the appropriate information to deliver high-quality care.
Your day will involve greeting patients and families in alignment with Nemours Standards of Behavior, verifying identities, and preparing exam rooms and equipment. You will perform and document clinical duties such as obtaining vital signs, assisting with examinations, performing point-of-care testing, and administering vaccines. Additionally, you will act as a communication bridge between support services and patients, managing wait times and confirming visit statuses to ensure a smooth experience for everyone involved.
Nemours Children's Health is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, gender, age, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
