Avera Infectious Disease Specialists in Sioux Falls is part of a multidisciplinary team built with compassion and a shared goal: Moving Health Forward for patients and the community. We are dedicated to providing professional nursing care that addresses the unique needs of adults with infectious diseases, ensuring a supportive and efficient environment for both staff and those we serve.
This position serves as a primary nurse within the adult infectious disease clinic, delivering professional nursing care under the direction of providers. You will be the face of the clinic, greeting patients, obtaining health histories, and taking vitals to prepare them for examination. Your day involves administering prescribed medications and treatments, coordinating patient care activities, and assisting providers during procedures and testing.
Beyond clinical duties, you will play a vital role in patient education, teaching families about diagnostic processes, medications, nutrition, and wellness maintenance. You will also manage the flow of the clinic by overseeing appointment scheduling, responding to patient inquiries, and ensuring exam rooms are stocked and clean. This role requires a collaborative spirit, working closely with other staff to solve practice-related problems and uphold the highest standards of care.
