About the Role
As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring quality patient care and safety. This position exists to bridge the gap between patients and providers, facilitating smooth physician encounters and maintaining the integrity of our medical records. You will work collaboratively with fellow team members, the Lead Medical Assistant, and the Chief Medical Officer to create a supportive environment where patients feel heard and cared for.
Your day will involve preparing patients for their visits by recording vital statistics, reviewing medication lists, and updating medical histories. You will assist providers with medical tasks, perform simple treatments under supervision, and collect laboratory specimens. A significant part of your role involves ensuring patient safety by observing conditions and adhering to strict infection control standards, including the use of aseptic techniques and personal protective equipment. You will also support the clinic's operations by managing medical supplies, maintaining exam rooms, and assisting patients and families with communication barriers and paperwork, including translation services when assigned. Additionally, you will contribute to team efforts by participating in daily huddles, QA/PI meetings, and following up with patients for recalls or post-hospital discharge care.
