This on-call Medical Assistant position supports the delivery of direct patient care within a Kaiser Permanente medical office or clinic setting. You will serve as a vital link between patients and licensed healthcare providers, performing routine clinical and supportive functions under established scope of practice. The role is designed to assist assigned physicians and medical personnel with procedures, diagnostic exams, and medication administration while maintaining the highest standards of patient confidentiality and safety.
You will be part of the Kaiser Permanente team, operating with a commitment to upholding company policies, principles of responsibility, and all applicable state, federal, and local laws. This specific opportunity involves travel between the Los Angeles Medical Center (LAMC) and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA) at least twice a week. As an on-call position, your working days and hours may vary within the specified shift to meet the dynamic needs of the clinic.
To succeed in this role, you must be a Certified Medical Assistant, a Registered Medical Assistant, or a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program. A current Basic Life Support certification is required. A key requirement for this position is bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (Level II), which must be demonstrated by passing a bilingual test within the last 12 months or by being active in the QBS program.
While prior experience is preferred, the role offers a supportive environment for those ready to apply their clinical training. You will be expected to possess basic computer and typing skills to manage charting, appointments, and patient test results effectively.
