About the Role
The Medical Assistant serves as a vital support to physicians, facilitating the examination and treatment of patients within a dynamic clinical environment. This role is designed to ensure seamless patient care by bridging clinical tasks with administrative coordination. Under the close supervision of the physician and clinic manager, the Medical Assistant acts as a primary point of contact for patients, managing everything from initial intake to post-visit follow-ups.
In this position, you will be the face of the clinic for many patients. Your day involves interviewing patients to gather essential health histories, obtaining vital signs, and accurately documenting patient charts. You will play a hands-on role in clinical procedures, including drawing blood, preparing specimens for laboratory analysis, and administering medications according to physician orders. Beyond direct patient care, you will coordinate the flow of the clinic, managing schedules, triaging phone calls, and communicating test results to patients and families within 48 hours.
The role also emphasizes a commitment to quality and compliance. You will work closely with the team to maintain regulatory standards, manage inventory for vaccines and supplies, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Whether assisting with minor surgical procedures, supporting community health events, or training new team members, you will contribute to the overall efficiency and high-quality service of the practice.
