About the Role
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Travel Med Surg RN to provide exceptional patient care in diverse healthcare settings nationwide. In this role, you will deliver bedside nursing care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, administer medications, and support patients and families through all phases of treatment. You will adapt quickly to new environments, document accurately, and follow facility protocols.
As a Travel Nurse, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes across the country while experiencing the flexibility of travel nursing. You will work in various hospitals, adapting to new units, EHR systems, and workflows while maintaining professionalism and flexibility. Key Responsibilities
- check_circleDeliver direct bedside nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on medical-surgical units
- check_circlePerform comprehensive patient assessments including physical exams and condition monitoring
- check_circleDevelop and implement individualized nursing care plans with the interdisciplinary team
- check_circleAdminister medications, IV fluids, blood products, and prescribed treatments safely
- check_circleProvide wound care, post-operative care, and catheter and drain management
- check_circleMonitor and document vital signs, lab values, and diagnostic results accurately
- check_circleEducate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions
- check_circleCollaborate with physicians and staff to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
- check_circleRespond to urgent and emergent situations using sound clinical judgment
Requirements
- verifiedActive, unrestricted RN license in applicable state(s) or compact RN license
- verifiedMinimum of 1–2 years recent acute care Med Surg RN experience
- verifiedCurrent BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- verifiedAbility to pass facility-specific credentialing and background checks
Nice to Have
Current ACLS certification, experience with common EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech), and travel nursing experience.
