As a national learning health system, Mission Hospital is transforming care delivery, advancing clinical outcomes, and empowering nursing teams in a collaborative effort to give people a healthier tomorrow. Located in Asheville, North Carolina, we serve as the regional tertiary and quaternary care center for Western North Carolina and the adjoining region.
Our facility is licensed for 853 beds and stands as the region's only trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit, and children's hospital. We are proud to be a Magnet® designated hospital for nursing excellence. Our commitment to innovation is evident in our stroke response times, which are nearly half the national average, and our cutting-edge SPOT Technology that detects sepsis earlier than the human eye. Additionally, our Enhanced Surgical Recovery program reduces opioid prescriptions and post-surgical readmissions.
As a member of Mission Health, an operating division of HCA Healthcare, we are recognized as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies® by the Ethisphere Institute more than ten times. HCA Healthcare has spent an estimated $3.7 billion on charitable care, uninsured discounts, and uncompensated expenses, reflecting our dedication to community health.
"The great hospitals will always put the patient and the patient's family first, and the really great institutions will provide care with warmth, compassion, and dignity for the individual." - Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr., HCA Healthcare Co-Founder
