As a national learning health system, Mission Hospital is transforming care delivery, advancing clinical outcomes, and empowering nursing teams in a collaborative effort to give people a healthier tomorrow. Located in Asheville, North Carolina, we serve as the regional tertiary and quaternary care center for Western North Carolina. We are the region's only trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit, and home to the only children's hospital in the area.
Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our Magnet® designation for nursing excellence. We utilize cutting-edge technology, such as SPOT Technology for earlier sepsis detection, and programs like Enhanced Surgical Recovery to reduce opioid prescriptions and post-surgical readmissions. Our stroke response times are nearly half of the national average. HCA Healthcare, our parent organization, has been recognized as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies® by the Ethisphere Institute more than ten times and has invested billions in charitable care.
As a Registered Nurse on our Med Surg team, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care that embodies our vision, mission, and values. You will act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, ensuring an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes. Working collaboratively with medical providers and the care team, you will follow established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage" to provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care.
Your day will involve assessing patient conditions during admission and each shift, promptly identifying changes in status, and performing procedures as ordered. You will administer medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and educate patients and families about treatment plans and medical conditions, translating complex terminology to ensure complete understanding. Your goal is to respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate needs to resolve them effectively.
We are interviewing candidates for our Med Surg Registered Nurse opening. If you are ready to join a family that cares about every stage in your career, apply today. A member of our Talent Acquisition team will reach out to qualified candidates to discuss the next steps.
