About the Role
As a Medication Assistant at our Gss Nd Mandan Miller facility in Mandan, ND, you will serve as a vital caregiver, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance. You will work under the supervision of a charge nurse to deliver age-appropriate care that addresses both the physical and psychological needs of our residents.
Your day will involve a blend of compassionate personal care and clinical support. You will assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, while also helping with transfers and mobility using proper techniques. A key part of your role is administering prescribed medications within your scope of practice and state regulations, documenting outcomes, and communicating any changes in resident condition to the nursing team. Beyond direct care, you will help create positive dining experiences, support wellness and recreational programs, and maintain clean living environments.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleAssist residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and transferring using proper techniques
- check_circleCommunicate changing resident conditions and care concerns to the charge nurse
- check_circleObtain and record vital signs, collect non-invasive body fluid specimens, and perform range of motion exercises
- check_circleSupport wellness and recreational programs and encourage resident participation
- check_circleDocument resident care outcomes, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary intake
- check_circleAssist with food preparation, dining, and providing meals, snacks, water, and supplements
Requirements
- verifiedHigh school graduate or GED preferred
- verifiedMinimum age of 18 preferred
- verifiedPrior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
- verifiedSatisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- verifiedMaintains 12 hours continuing education annually
- verifiedValid driver's license and auto insurance if applicable
- verifiedState required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- verifiedState approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course completion
- verifiedActive certified nursing assistant registration or ability to obtain within 120 days
Nice to Have
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED). Minimum age of 18. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care.
