As a Medication Assistant at our GSS NE Alma facility, you will serve as a vital caregiver, providing daily living assistance and nursing care to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. This role is designed for those who wish to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors by addressing their physical and psychological needs according to their individual plans of care.
Your day will involve a blend of direct resident care and administrative duties. You will assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, while ensuring a positive dining experience during meal times. A key responsibility is administering prescribed medications within your scope of practice and state regulations, while accurately documenting outcomes related to care, behavior, and dietary intake. You will also support residents with mobility through safe transfer techniques and range-of-motion exercises, and assist with wellness and recreational programs to encourage community engagement.
This position is part of a travel team, requiring you to support multiple locations within a 150-mile radius of your permanent address. Mileage reimbursement is provided for required travel. The role is PRN (as needed) with varied shifts, requiring a minimum of 30 hours per month, including one weekend shift. Premium pay rates are available for weekend and evening/night shifts.
