About the Role
This position serves as a critical engineering support function for field turnbacks received from elevator field mechanics. The Mechanical Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining product integrity by evaluating opportunities and integrating new component designs into existing systems. The primary objective is to drive the closure of the Field Turnback Backlog by implementing engineering changes as part of the formal change control process, all while meeting agreed-upon cost and schedule commitments.
The role requires a blend of individual contribution and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with field representatives to resolve complex issues and communicate technical solutions to non-technical team members. The position involves a dynamic day-to-day workflow including component design, 3D modeling, cost analysis, technical documentation, and the testing of a wide range of elevator components.
