The High School Math Teacher delivers engaging, standards-based mathematics instruction to students in grades 9–12. This role is designed to foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and mathematical reasoning while creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic growth and student success. The position requires a strong passion for working with children, prioritizing safety, inclusion, and engagement through a student-centered mindset.
You will plan and deliver effective math instruction across various subjects, including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics. Your day involves developing lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles, assessing student progress through assignments and projects, and providing timely feedback. You will utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technology to enhance engagement while maintaining accurate records of student grades.
Beyond the classroom, you will collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school initiatives, communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, and participate in professional development and faculty meetings. The role often extends beyond standard school hours for lesson planning, grading, and extracurricular activities, requiring a balance of standing instruction, monitoring students, and focused planning time.
