About the Team
The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is an expanding team of more than 50 physicians and researchers dedicated to Women's Health. MUSC Health has earned a U.S. News & World Report 2023-2024 national ranking as one of the top 20 hospitals for Obstetrics & Gynecology. The division operates within a state-of-the-art ecosystem, supported by the Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women's Pavilion, a 100,000-square-foot facility that transformed fetal, women's, and children's care in the region. This clinical excellence is further bolstered by the Charles P. Darby Children's Research Institute, the largest pediatric research facility in the Carolinas.
About the Role
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine clinician-educator to join a collegial team of 11 MFM physicians, APPs, and support staff. This role is pivotal in educating the next generation of leaders while enhancing access to specialized care for high-risk OB/GYN patients in Charleston and surrounding regions. New graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
The position offers a unique blend of clinical care and academic teaching. You will be involved in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. The schedule includes three full days of clinic per week (approximately 15-25 patients per clinic), half to one day of administrative time at the Prenatal Wellness Center or outreach clinics, and one weekend day of backup call. Inpatient responsibilities consist of four weeks per year (one week per quarter), with travel throughout South Carolina to provide MFM care. Notably, this clinical-track faculty position carries no research requirement.
