This position is essential to maintaining the efficiency and safety of our warehouse operations. You will serve as the backbone of our material flow, managing the complete lifecycle of inbound and outbound goods. From the moment materials arrive to their final shipment, you will ensure accuracy through rigorous scanning, documentation, and physical handling. The role demands a balance of precision in paperwork and physical agility in operating heavy machinery to keep our supply chain moving smoothly.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of tasks designed to uphold our ISO 9001 standards. You will participate in cycle counting for raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods, ensuring inventory accuracy at every stage. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to the physical movement of goods, including loading and unloading trucks and operating forklifts to move materials efficiently.
You will also be responsible for the administrative side of logistics, processing pick-sheets, skid labels, and bills of lading while maintaining orderliness in receiving and storage areas. Safety is paramount; you will be expected to immediately report any spills, leaks, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to the Warehouse Supervisor. Additionally, you may assist in hazardous waste handling under the guidance of certified personnel.
This role requires a high level of physical activity. You will frequently bend, squat, and kneel, and must be capable of lifting 50-pound bags. Approximately 80% of the work involves loading and unloading utilizing a forklift, while the remaining 20% focuses on scanning and paperwork. Consistent use of safety gear, including safety glasses, gloves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes, is required. Depending on the materials handled, you may also need to wear respirators or hearing protection after passing a fit test.
