About the Role
As a Material Handling Equipment Technician Level III, you will oversee the safe operation, daily monitoring, and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and industrial batteries. This role is designed for experienced professionals who can troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems, including PLCs, motors, and hydraulic schematics. You will also mentor junior technicians (Level I and II) and participate in special projects ranging from facility maintenance to emergency response. Your work ensures the fleet remains operational and safe, directly supporting the company's mission to serve customers effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleOversee safe operation and daily maintenance of Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
- check_circleLog time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- check_circleRespond to emergency situations to ensure facility and employee safety
- check_circleComplete special projects including light carpentry, painting, and plumbing repairs
- check_circleMaintain tools and equipment in clean, safe, and working order
- check_circleTrain and mentor junior MHE technicians
- check_circlePerform preventive maintenance including oil changes, belt adjustments, and safety checks
- check_circleConduct electrical repairs, welding projects, and PLC troubleshooting
- check_circleMaintain and repair industrial batteries, including charging, watering, and acid spill cleanup
- check_circleDiagnose and repair mechanical systems such as transmissions, brakes, and steering
Requirements
- verifiedHigh school diploma or GED
- verifiedSix years in an MHE maintenance position
- verifiedValid state driver's license
- verifiedSysco-approved defensive driving program
- verifiedPowered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco
- verifiedMHE 8-hour maintenance tech certificate from MHE manufacturer
Nice to Have
Tech school or equivalent (2 years). Trade electrical I & II training.
