About the Role
As a Material Handler/Forklift Operator in Milwaukee, you will report to the Department Manager and serve as a vital link in our logistics operations. This role is designed for individuals who can perform work under direct supervision while handling basic issues and problems, knowing when to refer complex matters to higher-level staff. You will be responsible for the manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies.
Your day will involve counting, weighing, or measuring incoming and outgoing items to verify them against bills of lading, invoices, and orders. You will examine shipments for damage or shortages and coordinate with shippers to resolve discrepancies. Beyond inspection, you will prepare materials for shipping by weighing, packaging, and stamping them, while also completing necessary documentation such as bills of lading. A key part of your responsibilities includes operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or dollies, to move stock and reorganize storage efficiently.
