Join HII Mission Technologies as a Marine Electrician and make an impact on the safety of our US Navy ships. Based in Chesapeake, VA, you will serve as part of the Elevator Support Unit (ESU), providing critical task support to install, operate, maintain, and repair equipment on active class surface ships. This role is central to fleet modernization, requiring you to perform alterations and installations while troubleshooting complex malfunctions to ensure operational readiness.
As a Marine Electrician, your day will involve working aboard ships, in shipyards, and at military bases both domestically and abroad. You will interface directly with customers, manage subcontractors, and lead teams to complete complicated, non-routine tasks. The role demands a hands-on approach to maintaining shipboard systems and integrated equipment, often in challenging environments characterized by extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and industrial conditions. You will also be responsible for developing technical documents, conducting quality inspections, and providing onsite training to customer support personnel.
HII is more than a job—it is an opportunity to build a new future. Recognized as one of America's top large company employers, we are a values and ethics-driven organization that puts people's safety and well-being first. Regardless of your role or where you serve, you will find a supportive and welcoming environment with valuable educational and training programs for continual career growth at every stage of your career. Together, we are working to ensure a future where everyone can be free and thrive.
