As a Marine Electrician based in Norfolk, VA, you will join a passionate, talented, and diverse team supporting cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations. Your work is vital to our mission to protect and serve our Military. You will join, fabricate, and assemble various electromechanical and electronic assemblies by applying appropriate safety techniques. The work is performed onboard U.S. Naval Ships and military installations, where you will play a critical role in ensuring that successful and safe work is performed.
In this role, you will work on assignments that are not completely standardized, selecting or adapting standard procedures using applicable precedents. You will troubleshoot malfunctions, follow specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct devices, and conduct tests requiring subjective judgments in measurement. You will also compile engineering data from field notes and manuals, assist in design modifications, and develop information concerning previous operational failures. Success in this position requires relying on your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while working in environments with drafts, noise, and temperature variations.
