The Marine Electrician is responsible for the installation, testing, and repair of marine cables and equipment. This role involves the installation and connection of lighting, electrical power, electronics, and fiber equipment. The position requires utilizing hand and power tools, various test equipment, and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
Candidates must possess in-depth knowledge in the installation, testing, and repairing of marine cables and equipment, with at least 5 years of experience as a Marine Electrician. Applicants should have a working knowledge of installing and connecting lighting, electrical power, electronics, and fiber equipment, along with comprehensive knowledge of component and system start-up, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
Successful candidates must be familiar with applicable commercial and government specifications and codes, and be able to read marine blueprints while working from both standard and metric specifications. Additional requirements include having own transportation to and from work, a consecutive and verifiable work history, and the ability to pass a pre-employment medical exam, drug screen, and physical fitness test (PFT). Candidates must also be willing to maintain a clean-shaven appearance.
