The Manufacturing Technician is a vital member of our production team, responsible for the end-to-end creation and post-processing of medical devices. This role ensures that every component meets the highest standards of quality and safety through precise secondary processes such as deburring, media blasting, polishing, filing, cleaning, and packaging.
You will work in a dynamic machine shop environment, balancing hands-on fabrication with strict adherence to quality system guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing lines while ensuring full compliance with OSHA safety standards and FDA regulations (21 CFR 820).
This role involves direct interaction with a variety of materials, including metallic powders, polymeric resins, cleaning solutions, inert gases, and acids. Technicians must be prepared to work in standard machine shop conditions, which may include noise, dust, and temperature extremes. In controlled environments, strict personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols are enforced, including the use of gowns, hair nets, shoe covers, and nitrile gloves.
The physical demands of the role include the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, as well as extended periods of standing, squatting, kneeling, and working with tools. Safety is paramount; proper use of respirators, eye protection, hearing protection, and protective clothing is required for all tasks.

Conformis, now acquired by restor3d, operates within the medical equipment manufacturing sector with headquarters in Billerica, Massachusetts. Founded in 2004, the organization specializes in the development of personalized joint replacement systems and instrumentation designed to optimize implant fit and performance. The company leverages advanced imaging technology to create implants that are individually sized and shaped to match a patient's unique anatomy, contrasting with traditional methods that force the patient to fit the implant.
This approach aims to preserve healthy tissue and minimize surgical trauma by providing precise anatomic fit. The firm also offers disposable, patient-specific cutting and placement guides that simplify surgical techniques by reducing the number of tools required during orthopedic procedures. These solutions allow surgeons to deliver treatments that address the specific needs of each individual rather than relying on generic, one-size-fits-all components.
As a publicly traded entity based in Massachusetts, Conformis focuses on advancing patient care through innovation in orthopedic surgery. The company's strategy centers on the belief that optimizing outcomes requires a personalized approach to medical devices, ensuring that both the implant and the surgical process are tailored to the distinct biological characteristics of the patient.
