Manufacturing Refrigeration Technician

About the Role

This position is dedicated to the critical maintenance and operation of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems. As a key member of the team, you will ensure the reliability and safety of our cooling infrastructure, which is vital to our daily operations. The role involves a hands-on approach to keeping equipment running efficiently through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and component replacement.

Day in the Life

Your day will be defined by active engagement with the refrigeration plant. You will monitor system performance, operate compressors, condensers, pumps, and valves, and perform evaluations according to a strict preventative maintenance list. Safety is paramount; you will execute repairs using safe LOTO procedures and adhere to the PSM program. Throughout the shift, you will log all work orders and maintenance activities into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to ensure accurate tracking. The environment is dynamic, requiring you to work in varying temperatures and around live production lines.

Physical Environment

This role requires working in a demanding industrial setting. You will be exposed to noise levels exceeding 85 decibels, CO2, and moving production lines. The temperature can fluctuate between 99°F (37°C) and 45°F (4°C), and you may encounter damp, wet, and cold conditions. The position also involves regular lifting of 25+ lbs and working in areas with raw animal odors.
