Complex Safety Manager (Poultry Industry)

About the Role

This position serves as a critical guardian of workplace safety and health within a fast-paced production environment. The role is designed to proactively prevent injuries, illnesses, and property loss while ensuring strict adherence to complex regulatory standards. You will act as the bridge between operational teams and executive leadership, fostering a culture where safety is the foundation of daily operations.

Day in the Life

Your day involves a dynamic mix of proactive planning and reactive problem-solving. You will conduct thorough safety inspections and audits across the facility, monitoring critical systems such as Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space protocols, and industrial hygiene standards. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to data analysis, including the preparation of Monthly DART Rate reports and the management of worker's compensation activities.

You will also serve as a key liaison for safety governance, facilitating and attending Executive Safety Committee and Joint Safety/Ergonomic Committee meetings. From assisting with accident investigations to managing essential documentation like OSHA logs and certificates of insurance, your work ensures the organization remains compliant and secure. This role requires physical presence on the production floor, navigating environments that may include exposure to noise, temperature variations, and raw animal odors.
