GE Vernova offers a great work environment focused on professional development and challenging careers within the energy sector. As part of our manufacturing operations, we are committed to safety, high-quality standards, and operational excellence. Our team collaborates closely with engineers and quality personnel to drive continuous improvement and support business needs.
As a Tube Reducer Operator on the 2nd Shift, you will be the backbone of our production line, responsible for setting up and operating pilgering machines and automatic saw tables. Your day will involve precision work, including deburring, serialization, and ensuring strict adherence to Manufacturing Engineering Instructions (MEI), Method Sheets (MS), and Operation Parameter Sheets (OPS).
You will manage the full lifecycle of machine setup, from changing dies and mandrels to converting machinery for different operations. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to maintaining equipment health through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical faults, and performing routine adjustments using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and indicators. You will also monitor product quality by checking ID, OD, and wall thickness samples, making necessary setups to assure a quality product. In addition to operating tube reducers, you may set up and operate lathes for chamfering tubing and assist in training new operators.
This position is designed for individuals who are mechanically inclined and enjoy hands-on work. You will play a key role in championing EHS initiatives and maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly workplace. The role requires flexibility to support business needs, including scheduled overtime, hold-overs, or emergency call-ins.
This is a 2nd Shift position, typically running from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday. To support off-shift operations, an additional night-shift adder is provided, which transitions to a 10% increase after five years of service.
Candidates must be proficient in basic and shop math, including decimals and fractions. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and the ability to earn crane certification within a reasonable timeframe. Vision must be correctable to 20/20, and a color blindness test may be required depending on the assignment.
